This brings the aspriational statement out of just being in a news item to part of the new section, creates the section, puts it on the menu, and adds the recommendations. Also, a few other changes are made to highlight better the items we want to highlight right now for our audience.

We need a title for the section. We could just make “LLM-gen-AI” or
“LLM-backed generative AI”, but I think it should say something our
approach. Feel free to recommend changes if you don't like this.
Historically, this work was never completed when we released the
statement (— I found this half done on a branch on my machine in my
website checkout). Now, we have a place to put it. 🥳

Once this commit is live on the site, then
news/2022/feb/23/committee-ai-assisted-software-github-copilot/ in
the django database should be updated somewhat to link here and note
this is the permalink.
We are still looking for the right way to organize this whole
“Our Work”/“Tools”/“Learn” menu conundrum, but for now, restoring
this link is a good “watch this space”, as we will be releasing more
podcasts and vidcasts in the LLM-Gen-AI initiative.
Karen agreed yesterday with me that for the moment, we should drop
this link until we get a bit closer to trial in August.
It is untenable to add more items to this menu because most of this
descriptions are multi-line. We need to get LLM-gen-AI on there
somehow right now without a full redesign. Hopefully, this gets us
there.
We can move it back down after the conference ends.
Note that the link goes right to the recommendations, which is what
we want in the beginning. Someone please remember to make the href
just to /llm-gen-ai/ a few weeks after we publish the
recommendations.
I suggest that we change the featured item first to the blog post. A
lot of people will slowly be drawn to our website because of the
recommendations announcement, and the link to this is buried deep.
Hopefully that will draw people in who are upset about the
recommendations to read the article first and see that it is actually
not actually unusual to use proprietary software to advance FOSS.
This needs a little HTML formatting work on it, but it is adequate to
go live and I can fix the minor things throughout the day.
This pull request is broken due to missing fork information.
